watching the full moon rise over the city -
remembering
full moon nights at the ranch
rudy gleefully howling
on the deck in the moonlight
naming each dog
from neighboring ranches
as they added their voices to the concert
she would cackle and aaoooo
as their howls echoed up and down the valley
